Telefónica is one of the world's larger telecommunications groups, headquartered in Madrid, operating across Spain, Latin America, Germany and the United Kingdom. Security is a service it sells to its own subscribers rather than a product line it develops. Vivo Segurança Online, listed here, is the consumer security service offered by Vivo, Telefónica's Brazilian mobile and broadband operator — protection bundled with a telecoms subscription and billed with it. Operator-distributed security of this kind is usually another vendor's engine delivered under the carrier's brand, which is worth establishing before comparing it with products sold on their own merits. Telefónica also runs Telefónica Tech, its enterprise security and cloud services arm, which operates security operations centres for business customers. Neither is the sort of product the independent malware laboratories test under this name.
