Positive Technologies

Vendor

Positive Technologies is a Russian security company founded in Moscow in 2002 and listed on the Moscow Exchange. It is one of the most technically visible companies in the Russian market: its research team publishes extensively, and its Positive Hack Days conference is among the largest security events in the region. Its products include MaxPatrol for vulnerability management and security monitoring, PT Application Firewall, PT Sandbox, PT Network Attack Discovery and PT NGFW, the next-generation firewall listed here, which it launched as Western firewall vendors left the Russian market. One fact belongs in any assessment: in April 2021 the US Treasury placed Positive Technologies under sanctions, alleging support to Russian intelligence services, which the company denied. Whatever view a reader takes of that, it determines who can lawfully buy the products, and it is why they do not appear in Western test cycles.

A sales ban, asset freeze, export ban or federal procurement ban that names the company itself. Each measure above names Positive Technologies, not any individual product, and applies only where it says. CSI records what a government has published and links to it; this is not an assessment of the vendor's products, and the vendor stays listed so the record can be read.
