Point Wild

Point Wild is an American company that buys and consolidates consumer security and privacy brands rather than building one product line — it says it has acquired and integrated more than fifty companies and serves over 25 million users. Its holdings include the Pango group of brands, with Hotspot Shield, Identity Guard and UltraAV among them. UltraAV, the product listed here, is its antivirus, and it arrived in a way worth knowing about. When the US Department of Commerce prohibited the sale of Kaspersky software in the United States in 2024, Kaspersky's American consumer customers were migrated to UltraAV — in many cases by an automatic software replacement that surprised the users concerned and drew considerable criticism. Its products are consumer subscriptions sold largely online. UltraAV has a short record in the independent laboratory cycles compared with the product many of its users came from.
