Maipu

Maipu Communication Technology is a Chengdu manufacturer of data communications equipment — routers, switches, wireless and unified communications — that has been in business for around three decades and says it operates in some 60 countries, with over 1,500 employees, half of them in research and development. Security is one line within that networking business rather than the company's purpose. Its firewalls are sold under the MPSec name, including the IFW industrial firewall series for operational technology networks and the MSG security gateway series, with NSFW firewalls alongside. For this index the relevant framing is that Maipu is a network equipment maker whose security products are bought with its networks, mainly by Chinese enterprise and public-sector customers. It does not enter the international malware laboratories.
