Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd.

Vendor

Huawei is one of the world's largest telecommunications and networking manufacturers, founded in Shenzhen in 1987 and owned through a holding structure by its employees rather than by outside shareholders. Security is a product line within its enterprise business, sold alongside the routers, switches and wireless equipment that are the larger business. Its firewalls carry the HiSecEngine name: the HiSecEngine USG6000E and USG12000 series for enterprise and data-centre perimeters, with the eKitEngine USG6000F-S series for smaller sites and Cloud Firewall (CFW) for workloads in Huawei Cloud. HiSec Insight is its detection and analysis platform, and Qiankun its cloud-delivered managed security service. One thing a buyer outside China should know: Huawei equipment is restricted or excluded from public networks in a number of countries on national security grounds, and those decisions were about the supplier rather than about any measured property of the products. That is a procurement constraint this index does not record in any column, and it is worth checking before shortlisting.

A sales ban, asset freeze, export ban or federal procurement ban that names the company itself. Each measure above names Huawei, not any individual product, and applies only where it says. CSI records what a government has published and links to it; this is not an assessment of the vendor's products, and the vendor stays listed so the record can be read. Lists were last checked on 2026-10-09.
