Hauri, Inc.

Vendor

Hauri has made antivirus in Seoul since 1998, beginning with a DOS scanner, and its ViRobot engine is one of the few Korean-developed detection engines still in active development. It sells to Korean organisations and government rather than to a retail consumer market. The ViRobot line is broad: ViRobot Security and ViRobot Security Server for endpoints and servers, ViRobot Unix/Linux Server for non-Windows systems, ViRobot Manager as the console, ViRobot Mobile for Android with ViRobot Smishing Defender for SMS fraud, and ViRobot APT Shield, ViRobot WhiteGuard and ViRobot PMS for targeted-attack protection, allowlisting and patch management. ViRobot SDK licenses the engine to other manufacturers, and ViRobot DataEraser and DiskWiper handle secure deletion. Its REDOWL products cover access management and server security. Its market is domestic and its results in the international laboratories are sparse; the engine's real record is in Korean certification schemes rather than the European public test cycles.
