ESTsecurity Corp.

Vendor

ESTsecurity makes ALYac, which is among the most widely installed consumer antivirus products in South Korea — the company describes it as the country's national vaccine, using the Korean idiom for antivirus software. It is based in Seocho-gu, Seoul, and is the security subsidiary of ESTsoft, which spun the security business out into its own company. The line carries the ALYac name throughout: ALYac for households, with ALYac Mac, ALYac Linux/Unix and ALYac Office editions, ALYac Enterprise for managed deployments and ALYac EDR for detection and response. ThreatInside is its threat-intelligence service, and its Security Response Center publishes research on campaigns aimed at Korean targets — including the state-sponsored groups that focus on the peninsula, which is a body of analysis few vendors outside Korea produce. Its market is almost entirely domestic. Expect fewer entries in the European public test cycles than for a globally sold product of comparable installed base.
