Its position is European sovereignty: software developed and owned in Sweden, sold to customers for whom the nationality of the supplier is part of the requirement. Two markets make it unusual. It supplies defence — its products are used in military platforms and it works with Swedish defence primes — and it sells to telecommunications operators, where its firewalls run as virtualised network functions inside mobile core networks rather than as boxes at an office perimeter. Its products are Clavister NetWall, the next-generation firewall line, Clavister NetShield for network protection, and Clavister CyberArmour for endpoints and the defence market, with cOS Core as the operating system underneath. Being a network vendor, it is assessed through procurement and certification processes rather than the malware laboratories whose results fill much of this index.
