Vendor

Versa Networks is a Californian company, founded in 2012, in the business of collapsing the branch office network stack into software. Its argument is that routing, SD-WAN, firewalling and secure web access should be one platform delivered to a site or a cloud rather than four appliances, which is the approach the industry came to call SASE. Its products here are Versa Next Generation Firewall and Versa Cloud NGFW, both components of the Versa Universal SASE platform rather than standalone appliances, sold to enterprises and through service providers who deliver them as a managed service. It is a network and access product rather than an endpoint one, so the malware test cycles that fill much of this index do not measure it; its comparisons are with the other SASE and SD-WAN platforms listed here.
