Product

Antivirus software for Windows, macOS and Android, sold only as part of the Surfshark One subscription bundle rather than standalone. Surfshark Antivirus — powerful device protection that secures everything, from your webcam to your files. Important: Surfshark Antivirus is not compatible with Windows ARM and Android devices running on other than 64-bit architecture. A VPN encrypts your data and protects your online privacy, while antivirus offers malware protection and secures your devices. Among the capabilities recorded for it are cloud-assisted scanning and malware detection.

Vendor

Surfshark is a VPN company first. Founded in 2018 and operating from the Netherlands, it grew quickly in the consumer privacy market and merged with Nord Security, the company behind NordVPN, in 2022 — the two continue to operate as separate brands under one owner. Surfshark Antivirus, listed here, is not sold on its own: it is a component of the Surfshark One bundle, which combines the VPN with antivirus, a private search tool and a data-breach alert service. The protection is real but the purchase is a privacy bundle, and the antivirus is what the company adds to it rather than what it is known for. Its detection has been entered into independent testing on occasion, but the evidence base is much thinner than for vendors whose main business this is. Vendor page →
