Vendor

NSFOCUS is a Chinese network security company best known for one thing: absorbing denial-of-service attacks. It builds both the appliances that scrub attack traffic and the cloud service that does it at scale, and its published mitigation capacity is among the largest in the industry. It is headquartered in Beijing, listed in Shenzhen, and runs an international arm out of Santa Clara — one of relatively few Chinese security vendors with a real Western presence. Its products are named plainly: NSFOCUS Anti-DDoS System (ADS) for attack mitigation, NSFOCUS Next-Generation Firewall and NSFOCUS Next Generation Intrusion Prevention at the perimeter, NSFOCUS Web Application & API Protection, NSFOCUS Network Detection and Response, NSFOCUS Unified Threat Sensor and the NSFOCUS Intelligent Security Operations Platform (ISOP) above them, with log audit, vulnerability management and threat intelligence services alongside. Its business is network infrastructure rather than endpoint antivirus, so the laboratory programmes that fill much of this index do not test what NSFOCUS makes. Vendor page →
