Vendor

Moxa is a Taiwanese manufacturer of industrial networking equipment, founded in 1987, and everything it makes is built for environments that office equipment does not survive: factory floors, substations, rail systems and ships, where a device is expected to run for a decade without a reboot and in temperatures no office switch would tolerate. Its security products follow from that. The EDR-G9010 series are secure routers combining firewall, NAT and VPN for plant networks, and the EDF-G1002-BP series are industrial firewalls with bypass, so that a failed unit does not take the production line down with it. Both are designed around the protocols industrial control systems actually use. Products of this kind are judged by industrial certification — IEC 62443 and the equivalents — rather than by malware detection tests, which is why the laboratory columns here have nothing to say about them.
