Vendor

K7 Computing has made antivirus in Chennai since 1991, founded by Jayaraman Kesavardhanan, and is one of the oldest security companies in India. Its unusual distinction is export: it was the first Indian antivirus maker accepted in Japan, where its product was sold by SOURCENEXT as Virus Security Zero and took a substantial share of the Japanese retail market — a route almost no other Indian security vendor has taken. Households buy K7 Total Security, K7 AntiVirus Premium and K7 Ultimate Security, with K7 Mobile Security on Android and a macOS edition. Organisations buy K7 Endpoint Security, sold in Standard and Advanced editions, with K7 Cloud Endpoint Security for managed deployments. It has entered the public test cycles more consistently than most vendors of its size, so its rows in this index are comparatively well populated, and its results can be read against the larger suites rather than around them.
