Vendor

Jamf does one thing and has done it since 2002: manage Apple devices in organisations. Its products are how many schools, hospitals and enterprises deploy and control Macs, iPhones and iPads, and its business grew with the arrival of Apple hardware in workplaces that had standardised on Windows. It is headquartered in Minneapolis and listed on Nasdaq. Jamf Protect, the product listed here, is its security product: endpoint protection built specifically for macOS and iOS, using Apple's own security frameworks rather than a driver-level agent ported from Windows. That is its main argument — that protection for Apple platforms should be written for them, and should not fight the operating system's own architecture. Because it is Apple-only and enterprise-only, it appears in the macOS testing the laboratories run rather than in the larger Windows cycles, so its rows here draw on a smaller body of published evidence.
