Vendor

H3C is a Chinese infrastructure company, not a security company: it sells servers, switches, routers, storage and cloud platforms, and security is one line within that. It began in 2003 as H3C Technologies, a joint venture between Huawei and 3Com, passed through 3Com and Hewlett-Packard ownership, and is now majority-held by Unisplendour, part of the Tsinghua Unigroup group. Its headquarters are in Hangzhou. Its security products are firewalls and appliance modules rather than endpoint software. The SecPath line covers the range from desktop units to the high-performance H3C SecPath M9000 series, with SecBlade modules that add firewall, IPS or VPN capability to its switches and routers. What appears in this index is that firewall line. The company reports operations in more than 180 countries and over 17,000 patent applications, though its market is overwhelmingly domestic. Chinese network vendors appear rarely in the Western public test cycles, so absent laboratory results here reflect the absence of a test rather than a test that went badly. Vendor page →
