Vendor

Forcepoint's history is a chain of acquisitions. It began as Websense, a web filtering company; Raytheon bought it and combined it with its own cyber products and with Stonesoft, the Finnish firewall business McAfee had acquired and sold on; the combined company took the Forcepoint name in 2016. Francisco Partners bought it from Raytheon in 2021, and its US government business was later separated and sold again. Forcepoint Next-Generation Firewall, the product listed here, is the Stonesoft lineage — a firewall known particularly for managing large numbers of distributed sites from one console and for its clustering. Around it sit Forcepoint ONE, its cloud security platform, and the data loss prevention products that are now the company's centre of gravity. Its strongest position is in data protection and government, and it is judged there rather than in the consumer malware laboratories. Vendor page →
