Product

Multi-gigabit firewall appliances (Gold SE, Gold Plus, Gold Plus SFP, Gold Pro) for professional and small-business networks. Firewalla Gold Pro is a software-based router , managed by the same intuitive Firewalla app. Unbound is a validating, recursive, caching DNS resolver, installed locally on the Firewalla box, which helps increase your business's online privacy and security. Bridge two networks together by inserting Firewalla Gold Pro behind your existing router without additional configurations, and have Firewalla transparently secure your business network. It is available as a hardware appliance.

Vendor

Firewalla makes something few companies bother with: a real firewall, small and cheap enough for a household. Its boxes sit between the home router and the internet and do what an enterprise appliance does — intrusion detection and prevention, per-device policy, VPN, network segmentation and traffic visibility — but are set up from a phone rather than a console, which is the whole point of the product. The range is named by colour and tier: Firewalla Gold, Firewalla Gold Plus, Firewalla Gold Pro and Firewalla Gold SE for higher throughput, with Firewalla Purple and Firewalla Purple SE, Firewalla Orange and Firewalla Blue Plus beneath them. It has since added its own networking hardware, the Firewalla AP7 access point and Firewalla Switch X. There is no subscription: the hardware is bought once and the features come with it, which is unusual in this index and is a large part of why it is bought. It is a network product, not an endpoint scanner, so the malware laboratories do not test it. Vendor page →
