Cohesive Networks makes VNS3, a virtual network appliance that runs inside a customer's cloud account rather than on hardware — a software router, switch, firewall and VPN concentrator in one image, deployed in AWS, Azure, Google Cloud or a private cloud. Its purpose is connecting and isolating things the cloud provider's own networking cannot: encrypted links between clouds and between cloud and data centre, network segmentation for regulated workloads, and consistent addressing across providers. It is bought by network and platform teams, often in financial services and other regulated sectors where an auditable, customer-controlled network layer is required.
