Boomi Managed File Transfer, formerly Thru (acquired by Boomi in 2025), is a cloud-hosted MFT service with two parts: Automated File Transfer, whose flows move files between hosted SFTP, FTPS and HTTPS endpoints, external servers and cloud storage, and File Sharing, for exchange between people. Optional MFT Runtime nodes on Windows or Linux carry transfers into and within the customer’s own network, managed from the vendor’s cloud control plane. Integrating managed file transfer (MFT) directly into the Boomi Enterprise Platform enables the seamless flow of MFT workflows into Boomi integration processes, streamlining operations, enhancing visibility, and accelerating file exchange across your business ecosystem. Comprehensive monitoring and reporting tools provide transparent visibility into all file transfer activities in one dashboard. A single flow can handle many-to-many endpoints, routing, renaming, encryption, compression, etc. Additionally, Boomi MFT securely stores all files until they are delivered, offering features such as retry, auto-resume, exception handling, and notifications to enhance the transfer process. It is available as a cloud instance.
