Belden is an American manufacturer of cable and industrial networking equipment, based in St. Louis and listed in New York, whose products are found in factory, utility and transport networks worldwide. Its industrial networking is sold largely under the Hirschmann brand it acquired, and security is one line within that. Hirschmann EAGLE40, listed here, is its industrial firewall: a device built for plant environments — rated for the temperatures, vibration and power supplies of industrial sites — that segments control networks, provides VPN access for remote maintenance and understands the protocols those networks run. Belden also owned Tripwire, the integrity monitoring company, which it sold in 2022, so its security business today is the industrial networking one.
