Vendor

Rising is one of the founding names of the Chinese antivirus industry. Based in Zhongguancun, Beijing, it has been making security software for around thirty years, and for much of the 1990s and 2000s its boxed antivirus was the standard product on Chinese PCs — until free competitors, 360 chief among them, took the consumer market from underneath it. It responded by moving to enterprise and government customers, which is where its business now is. Its products are organised into four platforms: Xinghe (星核) for its detection engines, including the Rising AI network threat detection engine; Xingyun (星云) for endpoints, covering its EDR system, the ESM antivirus management platform, virtualisation protection and network access control; Xingwang (星网) for the network, with NDR, XSOAR, a next-generation firewall and its antivirus gateway; and Xinghai (星海) for data security, including USB device control. It sells almost entirely within China and does not enter the Western public test cycles, so its record in this index is a record of products rather than of laboratory results. Vendor page →
